Last week I was invited to a press lunch celebrating Universal Design Studio’s pavilion for London Design Festival. The concept behind the design was repetition, so fittingly we were taught the art of Japanese sushi making – from Hoso-Maki Zushi (thin rolls) to my favourite – Ura-Maki Zushi (inside-out rolls). Hopefully the pavilion, created as a partnership between Universal Design Studio and The Office Group, will find itself a permanent home in London. It’s a beautifully delicate structure, yet able to withstand the elements with its barely visible roof. Here are the fruits of my sushi-making labour!
